Registration
Q: Why Register?
A: While it is not necessary to register to view listings, registration does give you additional features such as the ability to upload your resume, customization of searches, and email notifications. Registration is FREE and best of all…you will receive one FREE 10-day classified ad (a $40 value) when you register. You register only one time for all three areas of the website…Classifieds, Employment, and Real Estate. To place an ad, you will be required to register.
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search ads without registering. However, you will want to register to save time as the site will remember various preferences for you. If you want to create ads, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.
Q: Will you share my registration information?
A: No, we do not share or sell your registration data. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Pricing and Payment
Q: How Much Do Ads in the Classified Section Cost?
A: Pricing for all Categories in Classified Ads can be Found Here! We offer one-time listings and subscription plans for sellers needing multiple listings. Photos and links may be added for no extra fee. New registered users receive one FREE 10-day classified ad.
Q: How Long Does an Ad in the Classified Section Run?
A: Ads may be placed in the Classified section for 3, 10, 21, or 30 days depending on the seller’s needs. Sellers with multiple items can save with a subscription plan which provides a substantial discount over a single item rate. Special note: Utilizing the optional “featured ad” places your ad at the top of the list. All sellers with a subscription plan have this benefit at no extra charge.
Q: How much do Employment postings cost?
A: Pricing for the Employment Section can be Found Here! We offer one-time listings and subscription plans for employers needing multiple listings. All listings are for 30 days and include access to the Resume Bank at no extra charge.
Q: What is the cost to Search Resumes.
A: The Resume Bank search function is available only to employers who have an active listing and is available for no extra charge.
Q: I am selling my own home…what will a listing cost?
A: Pricing for Real Estate Listings can be Found Here! We offer one-time 30, 90, 180, or 365-day listings. Don’t forget…an attractive and colorful yard sign is available that provides buyers with your unique PolkMarketplace ID number.
Q: I am a real estate professional and would like to market multiple properties…what will listings cost?
A: Real estate professionals will love our affordable subscription plans in a variety of sizes…they can be Found Here! Each listing has an area available for agent/broker marketing information. Also, you will be included in the database for buyers searching for an agent…even more exposure to buyers!
Creating and Managing Ads
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create ads. Registration is free.
Q: I created an ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: You need to run your ad. Go to “My Account” and click on “Run Ad” to the left of the ad you wish to run. The system will ask for your credit card information, and your ad will run as soon as your payment is processed and we’ve approved your ad. Our business hours are Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. so ads posted after these hours will generally be processed the next business day.
Q: I sold my stuff. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the “My Account” page, click on the “Stop” link to the left of the ad. Or if you wish, you may change your listing to another item or job opening for the remaining days of your listing.
Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: In the Classifieds, Employment, and Real Estate we’ve tried to include a wide variety of categories to choose from and each area has an “Other” category. If this still doesn’t meet your needs, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate your special request.
Q: What region should I put my ad in?
A: The region you live in. By default, the region will be the region you specified on your profile when you registered, but you can change this at any time.
Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show a person ads in their region first, then ads from outside their region.
Privacy
Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page.
Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.

Regions
Q: How Do Regions Work?
A: Polkmarketplace.com covers the U.S. but we specialize in central Florida (our local market). All cities within our local market are listed as a region. When you register or create ads, you will select a region. Please choose the city in our local area you want as your region if you are in the local market. If not, please choose your state. When you browse ads, ads in your region will be shown first. When you search for ads, ads in your region will be shown first. However, you will be able to view all ads in all regions.
Q: I don't see my city listed. What region should I choose?
A: Choose the city closest to you or the state you live in.
